What We Do

Anstee Bridge was set up in 2008 to support young people who are disengaged in school because of complex situations. Young People hit many of life’s hurdles for the first time during their teenage years.

This, combined with ‘fitting in’ socially, losses, medical needs, media and responsibilities can have a dramatic effect on a young person’s life chances.

Here at Anstee Bridge, we believe these precious years should be spent understanding who you are and what exciting things could be possible within your life. After all, our younger years are a gateway to the rest of our lives.

Anstee works intensively with 14 – 16 year-olds who are referred from their school. We also run many joint workshops and programmes across primary and secondary years.

We are proud to say that all of the young people we have worked with have been supported to further their education through college, other qualifications or within employment.

The work we do with young people focuses on:

  • Creative and artistic confidence-building

  • Celebrating true self

  • Building emotional resilience through improving mental health

  • Ensuring students leave with a destination (education, employment and/or training)

  • Bridging the gap between young people and their local society

  • Evidencing the best creative solutions in response to the needs of young people

I wish I can put in words the huge impact that you and your team have made on Simon. I really don't know what you have done but is amazing to see how all of the sudden my son started to believe in himself. A boy whose capacity was always underestimated is now showing his great potential but most importantly he looks happier. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for believing in my son. With my greatest gratitude. Gloria
